Dale Smith, adjunct instructor in both the BS Economic Crime Investigation and MS Financial Crime and Compliance Management programs co-presented at the joint International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts (IALEIA) / Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Units annual training event. Utica College is an education partner with IALEIA.
A two hour session was provided to more than 90 attendees concerning the use of the National Data Exchange (N-DEx). N-DEx is a national investigative information sharing system managed by the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services Division and contains reports (such as arrests, incidents, traffic, warrants, incarceration) from more than 5,000 criminal justice agencies across the United States. N-DEx supplies free, secure, and immediate access to relevant information, enhances the criminal justice community's ability to share that information in a timely manner, and provides analysis and collaboration tools to assist investigators working cases cooperatively with other agencies.
The session provided the analysts with a more in depth look at the features available within the system to include link visualization, geo-visualization, subscription and notification, and batch query features.
