William M. Virkler, MBA, began teaching at Utica College in 2001 as a Professor of Practice in Criminal Justice, and he was named the Associate Dean of Business & Justice Studies in 2013.
In 2000, Virkler was elected town justice of New Hartford, N.Y., and he still serves in that capacity today. Virkler also serves as Chairman of the Oneida County Probation Alternatives to Incarceration Board.
In 2006, Virkler was appointed to the District's Town and Village Courts Advisory Board; in 2008, he was appointed to the Peer Review Committee for the district. In that capacity, he served as chairman of the District's first judicial review and in 2009 was appointed to serve as mentoring judge for newly elected justices in Oneida County. Virkler is also a former president of the Oneida County Magistrate's Association.
