Internships are a key required component of the BS in Fraud and Financial Crime Investigation, BS in Criminal Justice, and BS in Cybersecurity degree curriculum. The 6-15 credit course (CRJ 407) allows students to gain valuable hands-on experience in economic crime and other areas within these fields that they are interested in. Coursework also includes periodic conferences, seminars, and writing and reading assignments designed to allow the student to put theory into professional practice.
If the student is unable to obtain an internship, or already has extensive work experience in the field, CRJ 475 Senior Project (3-6 credits) can be taken as an alternative course, with permission from the program director. Students will work with the program director and their academic advisor to develop a research project related to the degree subject matter. If CRJ 475 is taken for less than 6 credits, the student may also be required to complete a 300-level elective.
