Utica College is required to seek approval to offer distance education (online) programs in most states in the country. As these regulations are continuously evolving, Utica College makes every effort to maintain compliance and is working with each state to gain the appropriate authorization for each of our programs.
Utica College is authorized to operate in all states that participate in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA). Approval for institutional participation was granted on January 4th, 2017.
State Authorizations for the graduate Nursing programs
Due to compliance and regulatory reasons, Utica College is currently only permitted to provide online courses or instruction to students in the states listed below in the MS – Family Nurse Practitioner, MS – Nursing Leadership, MS – Nursing Education, post graduate Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate, post graduate Nursing Leadership Certificate, and post graduate Nursing Education Certificate programs.

The Family Nurse Practitioner MS, Nursing Education MS, Nursing Leadership MS, post graduate Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate, post graduate Nursing Leadership Certificate, and post graduate Nursing Education Certificate programs are licensed by the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education. License No. 4919 and 5896, respectively. Nursing Home Administration Licensure
Consistent with state and federal regulations, colleges preparing students for professions involving certification or licensure must disclose if programs that could potentially lead to certification or licensure meet the requirements of each state’s licensing requirements.
Nursing Home Administrator Certificate
The Utica College Nursing Home Administration Certificate fulfills the academic requirements for licensure in New York State. Specific courses within the Master of Health Administration program also satisfy the academic requirements for licensure in New York State.

Master of Social Work Licensure
Professional licensure or certification may be required to practice, advance, or specialize in social work. The Utica College Online MSW program is registered in NYS, so it is designed to prepare students to apply for applicable licensure or certification in accordance with New York educational requirements for licensure.
