State Authorizations for Distance Learning: Master's FNP

Utica University is required to seek approval to offer distance education (online) programs in most states in the country. As these regulations are continuously evolving, Utica University makes every effort to maintain compliance and is working with each state to gain the appropriate authorization for each of our programs.

Utica University is authorized to operate in all states that participate in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA). Approval for institutional participation was granted on January 4th, 2017.

State Authorizations for the Family Nurse Practitioner programs

Due to compliance and regulatory reasons, Utica University is currently only permitted to provide online courses or instruction to students in the states listed below in the MS – Family Nurse Practitioner and post graduate Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate programs.

Florida State Licensure for the graduate Nursing programs

The Family Nurse Practitioner MS, Nursing Education MS, Nursing Leadership MS, post graduate Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate, post graduate Nursing Leadership Certificate, and post graduate Nursing Education Certificate programs are licensed by the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education. License No. 4919 and 5896, respectively. Nursing Home Administration Licensure

Consistent with state and federal regulations, colleges preparing students for professions involving certification or licensure must disclose if programs that could potentially lead to certification or licensure meet the requirements of each state’s licensing requirements.

Nursing Home Administrator Certificate

The Utica University Nursing Home Administration Certificate fulfills the academic requirements for licensure in New York State. Specific courses within the Master of Health Administration program also satisfy the academic requirements for licensure in New York State.
