Kelly Anne: I was really skeptical of an online program because typically, I like to learn in front of people and teachers. However, when I tried the program, I was very, very happy with it. It was very easy to understand and very easy to use. Somebody like myself who is not very computer savvy found it to be very simple and enjoyable and from the convenience of being able to study in my own home and not having to drive with young children, was really a perk.
Brenda: I really loved the program. It's awesome. I had a lot of good instructors and a lot of support.
Jeanine: I just love the closeness and again, the fact that I felt like I was the only student in the whole big college.
Brenda: I could work two jobs and do the online program at the same time.
Jeanine: You can have a life with it because you can work around when your postings are due, when your papers are due and you make your own schedule.
Kelly: I don't think I would have been able to do it if I had to get up and drive in my car, and leave my kids and drive some place to another college to pursue my degree. If I can do it, anybody can do it, however old you are.
Video Transcript - What RN- BS Nursing Students Learn
Kelly Anne: Having obtained my B.S.N. (BS in Nursing) at Utica College is really going to help me professionally.
Jeanine: I've learned a lot with this program about myself, and about nursing.
Richard: It also allowed me to step outside my comfort zone, and do clinical experiences in places I didn't think I would ever do clinical experiences.
Anita: It takes a very different level of communication skill and ability to be able to interact with other students across the country or across the street via a computer and an online format.
Jeanine: Because of the things that I learned in my classes, I look at situations differently.
Anita: The benefit that I've received from going through the nursing program here at Utica College really added to my professional and personal skills and my critical thinking abilities that I need to use every day.
Jeanine: There's nothing better than having that feeling of graduating after doing all that work. That's why I want to go back to school, so I can graduate again. [laughs] You feel so proud. You just feel so proud.
Anita: I think what it really boils down to is giving me the skills, the confidence, the knowledge to make me a better nurse, and ultimately, help my patients to the best of my ability.
